Super 12s Charity Game

Parramatta Vigoro is proud to announce its Super12s Charity Match tomorrow - Bandaged Bears vs Pink Ribbons. All monies raised from the game will go to support the Westmead Children's Hospital and the Cancer Council's Pink Ribbon Day. Donations can be made on the day or via the link <HERE>

In Memory of Sonia Robertson

We're very sad to hear the news of the passing of Sonia Robertson (Soares) who played with the Redbacks2 team last season. Our deepest sympathies go out to her loved ones and we wish great strength to little Xavier born prematurely at just 26 weeks.

5 NSW Players Named in Australian U19s Team

Congratulations to Iesha Jeffrey, Michaela McLennan, Lucy Dobbins (vc), Emma Dixon and Lizzie Stephens on their selection in the Australian U19s team. Selections in the team were based on performances during the Titles. Iesha, who is the youngest member of the NSW team at 13 years, was also named Junior of the Carnival.

NSW retain Ashes in Sydney, 2011

Congratulations to the State 1 team for retaining their title by beating Queensland in the decider. It has been 50 years since NSW has successfully defended this Title 4 years running, so a great achievement by the team.

The NSW teams have enjoyed one of its most successful All Australian Titles successfully winning the State 1, State 2 & Veteran divisions. Well done too to the NSW Juniors who performed extremely well during the Titles - a great effort.

Congratulations to all the players in the NSW squad.

After a long 9 year drought NSW Veterans have taken out the Veterans title today in the All Australian Vigoro Titles.

Catherine McAuley High School proved to be too strong in this year's competition successfully winning all games to be first past the post and outright winners for the 2010/11. (read more)

Round 2 will commence Saturday 13 November, running for 6 weeks until 18 December. To register, please email your express of interest by 9/11/2010 to nswvigoro@bigpond.com or mssg Karena, together with a list of any dates that you know in advance that you will be unable to play during this comp. Super8s Teams Named

This season we celebrate the playing careers of Dotti Bushell, Roma Durrant, Hazel Hobbs and Joyce Martin who all represented NSW during the 1950s for Round 1 of Super8s. Check out the teams on the Super8s competition page.

Super8s Team Draw

The Super8s teams for round 1 will be drawn this Thursday (23/9) evening 7pm at Darling Street. All players are welcome to attend the draw.

Opens B grade comp starting this Saturday 18 Sept, Super8s to start week after on 25 Sept

This Saturday our Opens B grade will hit off. Please refer to Parramatta District Vigoro page after Thursday morning for the draw information for this weekend. Game times will be scheduled for the 2:30pm timeslot. As a higher than normal absenteeism was expected for the Super8s players this Saturday, it has been decided to delay the start of this competition to 25 September. There are still a few spots we need to fill so if you're considering nominating please register your interest now.

"Come and Try" Registration Day - Saturday 11 Sept

This Saturday we will be holding a "Come and Try" day from 11:30am - 2:30pm at Nemesia Street Park, Greystanes. For new players who may wish to try the game before the competition starts, why not come along. We'll have experienced players there to give you an overview of the rules and share some tips about the game. Current players - why not bring a friend along to introduce to the game.

NSWWVA AGM Saturday 21 August 2010

The Annual General Meeting will be held this Saturday 11:00am at MSA Building, 137 Gilba Road, Girraween. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend. For members wishing to nominate for a position on the committee, please ensure your nomination is lodged prior to COB Friday 20 August 2010. Captains of existing teams have been provided all the paperwork to submit. Please email us if you have any enquiries.

2010/11 Season to kickoff in September

The 2010/11 Vigoro season will commence Saturday 18 September 2010. Its time now to register your interest in playing. Existing teams should also register their teams (and team members). Further information will be published on this website closer to the competition start date.

In Memory of Gail Peacock

It is with great sadness that we must say goodbye to our fellow player and friend Gail who lost her battle with cancer on Monday afternoon (5/4/10) at the age of 47. Gail first played vigoro in the 1994/5 season and despite being diagnosed with her illness in 2002, continued to play in between treatment and in times of remission - she was a true champion! A service will be held this Friday 2pm at the Church of Christ, cnr Dunmore St & Pendle Way, Pendle Hill. The family has requested no flowers but a donation in lieu to either ConnecTed c/- Westmead Children's Hospital or the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation. We will remember Gail always.

Canley Heights RSL Eagles Soar to Victory

CH Eagles were convincing winners in the Parramatta District Opens B grade competition defeating Redbacks2 by 9 wickets in the Grand Final match. CH Eagles dominated during the season's competition and were well-deserved winners of the competition trophy. Linda Viles was dominating with the bat scoring an unbeaten 25 in the final game to take her team to victory for the 2009/10 season.

Round 3 "Super 8" Team Named

The Super 8 Team has been determined based on statistics from the Round 3 competition. The team list is now available on the Super 8s Competition page.

Little take out Rnd 3 Super8s by a Little Margin

With one wicket to spare Littles defeated Ball to take out the Rnd 3 Super 8s Competition. It was a competition largely affected by poor weather with only 3 of the 6 games completed. For more information see the Super 8s Competition page.

NSW Bring Home the Ashes

The NSW teams enjoyed a successful All Australian Titles successfully winning both the State 1 & State 2 divisions. Congratulations to all the players in the NSW squad - it was a true team effort to field all teams in the Titles. A very special thank you to our umpires and scorers! Game results will be available shortly on the NSW Blues page.
